The Texas Department of Transportation will fully close down the interchange of Loop 1604 and I-10 on the city’s Northside this weekend, as part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion project. The closures come amid the installation of steel beams on the first of four flyover ramps planned for the interchange.
So far, the contractor has set 27 of the 30 steel beams needed to support traffic on the new ramp connecting eastbound Loop 1604 to westbound I-10, according to TxDOT. This weekend’s closures, scheduled from Friday, February 2, at 9 p.m. to Monday, February 5, at 5 a.m., are set to help complete the installation of the remaining three beams.
